The Vault system supports the following request header as an extension to the "POST Object" operation:

Name

Description

Required

x-gmt-hyperstore

Clients can use this request header to specify the Vault storage type to apply to the object that’s being POSTed. Options are:

  • CASSANDRA — Store the object in the Cassandra database and protect the object by replicating it. The number of replicas is controlled by system configuration (region.csv:userdata_keyspace_strategy_options). CASSANDRA is not a valid option for "chunked" objects (objects larger than the system configuration setting mts.properties: cassandra.fs.max_chunk_size; the default is 10485760 bytes).

  • HSFS — Store the object in the Vault File System and protect the object by replicating it. The number of replicas is controlled by system configuration (region.csv: userdata_keyspace_strategy_options).

  • EC — Use erasure coding to store and protect the object.
